Photographer Receives £30k Compensation

In my last blog entry I talked about the photographer David Hoffman. At the time he was awaiting a settlement from the Metropolitan Police Service, after he was assaulted and had five teeth broken, while taking picture of the demonstrations associated with the G20 Summit in London in April 2009.

This incident took place just a few hours before newspaper vendor Ian Tomlinson was killed after being assaulted by a police officer.

There is a full report of the case, including video of the assault,  here.  The Guardian also carries a report, here.
